The boxes in Buenos Aires here are a lot bigger than in Brazil. Classes are huge, 30+ people and during the quieter hours, 15+ people are training. I wanted to get as much training in before starting our GAdventures tour, so I tried to make the most of the many gyms in the city (I think there were about 6).
We told the owner where we were from and how many days we were in Buenos Aires so he told us we could train for free while we were there. It legitimately felt like the CrossFit games with the level of competitiveness throughout the WOD in this box. The class was packed (our fault for showing up at 6pm) so it started out with some cardio as warm up and then we jumped straight into the WOD.
WOD: Filthy Fifty
50 Box jump, 24 inch box
50 Jumping pull-ups
50 Kettlebell swings (16kgs)
50 Walking Lunges
50 Knees to elbows
50 Push press (girls were told to use the bar only)
50 Back extensions
50 Wall balls (14lb ball used I think)
50 Double unders
Because of the size of the class, we were separated to start at different sections, I started at push presses and I got up to the 30 jumping pull ups. The cut off time was 20minutes and Ricky got up to like 5 walking lunges.
The biggest gym by far. Again cardio. The main trainer was really helpful and Ricky got his first kipping pull up! We tried some really challenging snatch mobility drills and my shoulders ached.
We went at 2pm and it was really busy already; they run from like 7am till 9pm with classes every single hour.
2 Rounds: 6 OHS (Ricky: 45kgs, Ailie: 45kgs) & 9 Pullups
1 min rest
2 Rounds: 9 OHS (Ricky 35kgs, Ailie: 35kgs), 6 Pullups
1 min rest
2 rounds: 12 OHS (Ricky 30kgs, Ailie (25kgs), 3 Pullups
Ricky finished way before the time closed, but I finished right on the buzzer.
